The World if Obama wins (according to Republicans) and
The World if McCain wins (according to Democrats)
Archive for the politics(blech) CategoryIt is interesting how so much media coverage is devoted to doomsday predictions. I suppose people are just more interested in what is going wrong than what is going right. How else would you explain the almost complete absence of mention in the media of the United Nation’s report “State of the Future”. I guess it was just too cheery for the masses huddled in their basements awaiting the first “nucular”(GWB) strike. The report concludes that “People around the world are becoming healthier, wealthier, better educated, more peaceful, more connected, and they are living longer.” Not quite the fodder for the next “scare” story on CNN is it? The brief mention of the report only fixated on the two elements of bad news: Global Warming is getting worse and the income gap is widening. This report shows trends that indicate a giant leap forward for humanity, but barely a mention in the news. Makes me question the quality of the “information” I am being spoon-fed while watching the latest reality show from the comfort of my air-conditioned couch. |
